Play School's Out in your browser

School's Out is a short, slow-paced point-and-click adventure game where you play as a teacher who is cleaning out their room at the end of their first year teaching. As they rummage through desks, dust off the class projector, and sort out the clutter of the cubbies, they encounter the lives of their students through the objects that were left behind. It is a game about the standstill of summertime and about how our lives leave a paper trail.
School's Out was created as a part of UChicago's Autumn 2021 section of Critical Videogame Studies, and I collaborated on it with three other students. The design was done collectively, and my individual contribution was some dialogue work as well as all of the programming. This was the first game I've made in colaboration with others, and as such it was a learning experience. Working with other disciplines has its challenges, but I'm very proud of the game we ended up with.
